Belt Repairs
There are three ways to repair a damaged belt:
-
Hot Vulcanising
This is generally only used to repair a small hole or tear, such as a puncture. It’s the most time consuming method but gives an almost perfect finish so is only usually used on an almost new belt that has a good useable lifespan.
-
Mechanical Fasteners
More commonly known as belt clips or staples, mechanical fasteners can be used to repair a tear or patch a medium/large hole. Depending on a size a clip repair can last anywhere from days to months. This type of repair is ideal to keep a damaged belt running until a replacement can be scheduled.
-
DIY Repair Kit
We can offer a DIY clip repair kit to allows your fitters/operators to patch a damaged belt allowing you to finish the shift or job without having to replace the belt or worse, the whole machine. If required training can be provided but full instructions are included.
